The VNB Payroll Card is a pre-paid debit card issued by Virginia National Bank, embossed with the employee’s name and the VISA® logo. The Payroll Card allows employees access to cash at ATMs and to make purchases at retailers that accept debit cards.
The employer enrolls participating employees in the program and deposits payroll onto the card, rather than providing a paycheck or requiring a direct deposit into a bank account.
Employers enter each employee one time via the employer website portal and a VNB Payroll Card will be immediately sent to each employee. The employer then funds each card using an ACH funding credit just as with direct deposit payroll, using the VNB’s special payroll card federal routing transit numbers along with the employee’s new payroll card number. These credits can be submitted within a routine direct deposit ACH credit file. The employee can access their money by using an ATM, using the card like a credit card by signing a VISA® receipt, or entering a PIN at purchase like a traditional debit card. The employers reload the cards each payday.
With the VNB payroll card, employees will no longer have to leave the workplace during business hours to go to the bank to cash their paycheck. The payroll card is safer than carrying cash and funds are available immediately.
