SARA’s “Walk-A-Mile” Event

VNB is sponsoring the “Walk a Mile” event on April 8, 2017 to support Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA). Inspired by the saying, “you can't really understand a person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes,” everyone is invited to proclaim their solidarity with the sexual assault prevention movement by marching in someone else's shoes. Educators, students, law enforcement officers, elected officials and others are expected to participate.

Any shoes are acceptable, and all participants are welcome. It’s encouraged to go a little crazy in your shoe selection for the event. Some are decorating with sequins, glitter, etc. Some are choosing to write the name of a survivor or other loved one on their shoes and walking in their honor. High heels are not required, though they can be entertaining.
